Best Practices for Distributed Solar and Storage Programs and Interconnections
Description: Be it community solar or rooftop solar, utility customers are waking up to the promise of making and using their own solar energy. Yet, challenges in program design and interconnection remain. This session will review the results of an NREL solar interconnection timeline study and highlight a set of best practices that can help utilities to more efficiently interconnect systems. Attendees will also learn about utility approaches to community solar and how they can partner with vendors to facilitate new revenue streams, while providing more access to renewable energy programs to customers.
Date: Wednesday, October 28, 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. PT
Speakers: Alan Saunders, Clean Power Research; Benjamin Cuozzo, New York Power Authority; and Jeff Cook, NREL
