Announcing AI capabilities, FleetView® and new partner integrations ahead of DISTRIBUTECH 2025

As global beneficial electrification accelerates, utilities and their tools must continually adapt. The US Department of Energy is explicitly encouraging utilities to embrace emerging technologies, with initiatives such as the Interconnection Innovation e-Xchange (i2X) and Innovative Queue Management Solutions (iQMS) programs. These evolving demands may strain existing utility technology solutions. Clean Power Research is here to help.

We’re excited to share many new innovations by Clean Power Research that help utilities adapt to the changing technology landscape. At DISTRIBUTECH 2025 we’ll be sharing:

  • Advancements in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in PowerClerk®, the workflow automation solution specifically designed for utilities and energy agencies
  • FleetView®, a solution that helps utilities expand DER visibility for planning and operating to the grid edge
  • New PowerClerk partner integrations with envelio and Smarter Grid Solutions (MEPPI)

PowerClerk AI Attachment Analysis

PowerClerk’s new “AI Attachment Analysis” transforms how utilities review file attachments. Combined with PowerClerk’s extensive automation capabilities, this feature introduces AI-assisted reviews that significantly boost the efficiency and accuracy of the application review process.

By automatically reading, understanding, extracting and validating information from attachments, PowerClerk can now detect and prevent common application deficiencies such as data discrepancies, un-met requirements and incorrect attachments. The AI feature can review common interconnection application attachments, such as electrical diagrams, site plans, equipment spec sheets, installation photos, site control documents, and steady-state and dynamic model files.

This feature is designed to maintain human-in-the-loop oversight and comes with built-in flexibility to configure AI review assistants through no-code design tools.

FleetView: Your view behind the meter

Electric utilities are facing unprecedented challenges as the rapid growth of behind-the-meter (BTM) distributed energy resources (DERs) such as solar PV and electric vehicles redefine the requirements to plan, operate and maintain a reliable grid. The use of traditional forecasting and planning practices in the new distributed energy landscape leads to blind spots in grid operations and uncertainties in distribution planning.

FleetView is a scalable DER data and insights platform that equips planners with up-to-date, dependable simulations to effectively incorporate DER behavior into load forecasts and grid impact analyses. FleetView simulation data is visualized using maps, charts and tables, and can be aggregated and viewed at the asset, circuit, feeder, substation or transformer level.  By pulling FleetView data into control room systems, operators can improve reliability and resilience with better visibility of grid edge conditions.

Utilities using PowerClerk can integrate data into FleetView, making it possible to quickly gain insight into how DERs are impacting their networks as soon as—or even before—they are connected. You can read more about FleetView in this article.

Partner Integrations

PowerClerk now integrates with solutions from envelio and Smarter Grid Solutions to streamline the end-to-end grid interconnection and DER asset management processes—from project siting and pre-applications, through grid studies, construction, commissioning, operations and DER asset enrollment.

  • envelio Inc. PowerClerk supports integration with envelio’s Intelligent Grid Platform (IGP), which combines hosting capacity and network model management with grid analysis and planning tools. This integration triggers technical grid analyses from PowerClerk’s application portal and automates workflows based on results returned from IGP and pre-configured PowerClerk business rules logic. For more information on the integration between PowerClerk and envelio’s Intelligent Grid Platform, read envelio’s press release.
  • Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) – Clean Power Research and MEPPI’s Strata Grid now integrate to streamline the DER asset registration process end-to-end. Strata Grid is MEPPI’s industry-leading Grid DERMS software, providing real-time control and visibility of both front of the meter and behind the meter DERs. Strata Grid can now leverage PowerClerk’s robust system of record and communication channels to streamline DER asset registration and provide control room operators visibility into location, registration status and other technical DER information. To learn more about the integration between PowerClerk and MEPPI’s Strata Grid, read the press release

We are looking forward to seeing many of our utility partners at DISTRIBUTECH 2025. We’d love to discuss how Clean Power Research can help advance your software solutions. Click here to schedule an in-person meeting, or join us at booth #1746.
